The new battery is 1 millimeter (0.039370079 inches) thick, and produces 1.5 volts, the same as a AAA battery. It doesn't have as long of a lifespan, but like... damn... that's awesome. The applications for this are endless. Not just because of how great making this little thing is, but given two or three years think how powerful those little batteries will be. Cell phones will be able to be the thickness of corrugated cardboard to say the least. Not even to mention the other consumer grade micro technologies that we're going to start using in the near future.

This is really exciting!

Apparently if you add an all white layer to the top of your photoshop files it reduces their file size by around 20%. The reason for this has something to do with not having to store the information used for thumbnails and previewing.

They use a laser to make etchings in the metal and it makes liquids flow opposite of what gravity tells them to. It works in a similar way to how a towel soaks up water, but they're able to guide where it goes. Left, right, up, down. They feel that it has a practical use as something you can implant into peopl. It can make blood run through it in a specific direction so you can run tests without having to take a whole syringe's worth of blood.

This is kinda old but it's still sweet. A giant sea worm named Barry was found in an aquarium, attacking the reef and its prized fish. Apparently this son of a gun is a 4 foot long polychaete worm and they had no idea it was in the tank. The only way they got a hold/found it was by taking the reef apart, rock by rock. After they found it they lured it out with fish scraps and it bit through a 20lb fishing line. This was at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium.

Been outta town and the sweet stuff lately, but I'm back now. Here something sweet. It's what's know as a normal map for making things in video games look 3d when they are actually flat, but this one is all sorts of messed up. I accidently made it during class while i was fooling around with a program that makes them. It's got some pretty intense colors and shapes.

Pizza Vending Machine! & The Ocarina of Rhyme

Sweeet, Owen just showed me this amazing new machine that's about to hit the streets. Check it out (video). It's a pizza vending machine. It's supposed to only take about 2 or 3 minutes to make the pizza and cost only about 6 bucks. What a delicious idea, I'll never go pizza hungry again. Here's the story.

A couple weeks ago Owen also showed me another thing that's pretty neat. It's a hip hop album made using the music from Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and the name of the album is The Ocarina of Rhyme. It was made by Team Teamwork. Check it.
